TI-30 Battery Compartment

The back case of the TI-30 STAT has a hatch for access into the battery compartment, which houses a pair of LR-44 button cells. The hatch has a plastic spring clip, which secures it.

FPC Battery Terminals

In this photograph, you can see that the contacts for the batteries are on flexible printed circuit (FPC). Over time, this part of the polyester material may become rigid and crack, preventing power entering the rest of the circuit.
